Independent Financial Advice since 1991…

We have been providing independent financial advice since 1991 and proud to be able to offer our clients a holistic unbiased approach to financial planning; quality advice that is fully supported by an exceptional level of personal service, tantamount to what you should expect to receive from any professional practice.

Impartial and unbiased

As Independent Financial Planners we are completely independent of any financial institution. We are directly authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and are not members of a network or partly-owned by an insurance company. This ensures our advice is truly impartial and unbiased.

Advice tailored to you

Our bespoke service is tailored to the needs of individuals and businesses. We do not sell products, there are no targets. At FAS, we forge long term relationships with clients based on trust and understanding, guiding them along the way. Communication is key in relationship which is why our clients received regular reviews and newsletters.

Exceptional service

By raising the bar and ensuring our service levels remain high at all times, we have been able to grow and establish our business. Despite our growth, we will never compromise on service and continue to recruit the right type of people to ensure our new and existing clients remain well looked after and receive the attention they deserve.

Chartered status

FAS is a Chartered Firm of Independent Financial Planners serving Kent and the South East.

Financial Advice & Services Ltd is part of an elite group of IFA firms in the UK to have been awarded the prestigious Chartered status in recognition of our commitment to professional excellence and integrity. Industry gold standards are not awarded lightly; the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) sets this benchmark at the highest level based on advanced qualifications, an overall commitment to continuous professional development and adherence to an industry standard Code of Ethics.

At FAS we are very proud of our Chartered status in recognition of our achievements to date but this is not just what sets us apart from other advisory firms. Our corporate title is not simply recognition for passing examinations or paying an annual fee; it is a public declaration of our commitment to excellence and quality in everything we do. Our Financial Planners are not only highly qualified but have years of relevant experience within our industry, which is acknowledged and well respected by everyone we have dealings with.

As a client, you can be confident that the advice you receive from any of our Financial Planners will be of the highest quality and from someone who is not only professionally qualified but also has a wealth of experience.

Value of Independence

We are proud of our highly-valued independent status which allows us to deliver superior quality advice and better outcomes for our clients.

As the name suggests, an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA) will offer you impartial, objective advice on financial products and services from the whole of market. There is no bias towards any particular financial company or product, and recommendations will not be based on fees paid by other companies to encourage them to sell their products. If you receive advice from an IFA, you can be confident they are working solely for the benefit of you, and no-one else. Conversely, a Restricted Adviser can only recommend products from a limited product range.

You may be wondering why Advisers choose to be restricted, since being independent is clearly better for clients? The simple answer is that it is more expensive to be independent than it is to be restricted. Being restricted makes it easier to run an advice business. A lot of smaller financial advice firms have chosen to become part of larger networks, which give them a panel of investments to sell to their clients. This makes it cheaper for them to run their business, because they can minimise their costs, outsource some of their functions and don’t have to spend time on investment research. Being independent, on the other hand, means going it alone and whilst this is far more costly and regulated, we believe clients should not be pigeon-holed and have the right to benefit from whole of market advice that is fair and competitively priced.

The number of Independent Financial Advisers operating throughout the UK is shrinking. We’re not quite becoming an endangered species yet, but it’s sometimes sad to see that there are fewer of us out there flying the flag for independence.

Our core values define how we treat each other, our clients and all the people we come into contact with on a day to day basis.

We believe they are a key part of our success – not just as a business, but in terms of the impact our work has on others. These values also underpin our commitment to abide by The Chartered Insurance Institute’s Code of Ethics.

We will always aim to uphold the highest personal and professional standards by adhering to the following principles:

Respect & Listen.

We must be respectful to others by listening and communicating directly and openly. We value diversity amongst people, ideas and points of view.

Honesty & Integrity.

We must act honestly and with integrity when dealing with clients. We aim to inform clients of their options in an open and honest manner.

Simplicity & Clarity.

We must aim for simplicity by avoiding the use of jargon and present clients’ options in a clear and concise manner, allowing them to make informed choices.

Fairness & Good Value.

Clients should always feel their financial planning is handled sensitively and fairly. We want them to feel secure in the advice given and be able to talk to us if they do not think their expectations are being met.

Knowledge & Excellence.

We will attain and actively manage a high level of professional competence and commit to continued learning to ensure the continuation of our knowledge, skills and expertise.
